Class Descriptions:

Tai Chi Chih: All Levels
Tai Chi was founded by Chang Seng Feng,
a 13th century Qigong Master. Tai Chi was created to blend the meditative
movements of qigong with martial arts defensive moves. This class
will explore Tai Chi Chih, a short form version of the exercise,
which involves relaxed, meditative movement of the arms and legs.
Tai Chi will help improve balance, harmony, strengthen bones, and
overall wellness.

Supreme
Qigong: All Levels
Qigong, pronounced "chee-gung,"
is a 5,000 year old self-healing exercise consisting of meditative
movements with focused breathing. Qigong is literally the "discipline
of qi." Regular practice of qigong will reduce stress, increase
metabolism, reduce arthritis pain, and create a more peaceful state
of well being. Like Dr. Oz says, "If you want to live to be
100, do Qigong!"

Community
Yoga : All Levels
A Beginner/Level 1 yoga
class that lasts for 45 minutes and is $5.00 to fit everyone's budget.
We want everyone to be able to enjoy the benefits of yoga.

Beginner
Yoga: Beginner/Level 1.
This is a basic class that offers the student
a way to try out yoga in a class meant for those new to the practice.
Learn about breathing techniques and gentle basic poses that stretch
and tone the body and create inner focus and confidence. Poses will
be broken down for easy understanding and teaching the student how
to keep the body safe with proper posture and breathing techniques.
This class is wonderful for those new to yoga and anyone wanting
to go back to the basics.

Gentle
Yoga: Restorative/Therapeutic Yoga: Beginner and up.
A relaxing and healing yoga session. Life's many demands
to work and take care of others often leave little time to rest
and rebuild. Give yourself the gift of balance by meeting your needs
with a practice that involves minimal effort, yet yields maximum
results. This class will teach you specific yoga poses that help
you master the art of relaxing so you rest deeply and completely.
Come and settle into a nurturing and supportive environment which
effectively targets stress, fatigue, and a physical conditions such
as back or neck pain.
You'll feel relaxed and rejuvenated as
you revitalize your body, mind, and spirit with this gentle practice.
Poses may be supported using blocks, blankets, and straps and are
generally held from 1-5 minutes.

Flow Yoga: Beginner and up.
This class is welcome to a wide range of
students. Modifications are offered for those new to yoga, while
variations are available for experienced students with the option
to go deeper and establish a personal degree of intensity. In this
class we synchronize the breath as we flow through each posture.
This creates awareness of mind and body that will move us into a
meditative state to calm the nervous system and focus the mind.
This class will leave you feeling re-balanced, revitalized, confident,
and calm.

Morning
Yoga Stretch: Beginner and up.
Greet the day with a good stretch! Come
limber up your joints and loosen those muscles at this beginning/level
1 yoga class. We will be doing very basic physical stretches and
postures to help align the back, relieve joint pain, strengthen
muscles, and improve balance.

Yin
Yoga for Hips and Hamstrings: Beginner
and up.
Yin Yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga
with mostly seated or supine poses that are held for comparatively
long periods of time, up to 5 minutes per pose is typical. Yin Yoga
poses apply moderate stress to the connective tissues—the
tendons, fascia, and ligaments—with the aim of increasing
circulation in the joints and improving flexibility.
Yin Yoga poses are also designed to improve
the flow of qi, the subtle energy said in Chinese medicine to run
through the meridian pathways of the body. Improved flow of qi is
hypothesized to improve organ health, immunity, and emotional well-being.
Yin Yoga is not intended as a complete practice in itself, but rather
as a complementary practice to balance the effects of more active
forms of yoga and exercise. Modifications for every level are available
using props like bolsters and blankets during class.

Foundation
Flow Yoga: Level 1 and up.
A slow yet flowing class designed to create
overall toning and strengthening of the muscles and enhance spinal
health while refining the foundation poses and breath work used
in Hatha yoga sequence and vinyasa. Great for beginners with average
flexibility, strength, and endurance and those that have completed
some beginner classes and are are ready to increase core power and
move a little faster. We use our session to build upon our basic
knowledge of the poses by learning modifications to create more
flexibility and challenge, which enhances our overall body awareness
and helps cultivate confidence, inner as well as outer strength,
balance, and stamina.

Core
Express: Level 2 and up.
A powerful fast moving class that will
energize your mind and spirit, strengthen your body and create confidence
and clarity, on and off the mat. The session begins with a short
warm-up, then a fast vinyasa style, breath initiated movement flow
of foundation poses with modifications to create heat in the body
and focus for the mind. The challenge continues with standing balance
poses, core power isometrics and seated holds for abs and backs
to further build endurance, strength, focus and flexibility. You
will sweat, so bring a towel and your energy! Great for people that
currently engage in sports/strength training or those that have
completed some Foundation Flow classes, and are looking towards
a stronger class for overall increased core power, stamina and some
cardio. This class lasts 45 minutes and has it's own special unlimited
and 10 class card pricing.
